Park Description. Sleepy Hollow RV Park in Wall South Dakota offers 54 full and partial hookup RV camping sites and 40 tent camping sites one block from the famous Wall Drug.
II see that several recent reviewers really slammed this park. The only thing that I really don NOT agree with is the complaint about the walk to downtown Deadwood. While US 85 does not have adequate space to walk on the east side of the road, the west side of the road has sidewalks. All you have to do is cross the road! Even better, cross 85 at the entrance road up to the RV park and you can take the less than 1 mile of smoothly graveled or later asphalt section of the MIckelson Trail into town.
As an older couple we are almost between us we have walked to and from downtown dozens of times. Since the park was not very full during our stay maybe 25 other RVs , the bathrooms and showers were always clean. Also, the WIFI worked fine for out entire stay. I still don’t care for the despotic way the owner runs this place. When reserving our spot and during check in, we requested a roof satellite spot.
We got to our assigned spot to find the branch of a tree over much of our roof.

Stephanie, her hubby, and two cats enjoy living and traveling full time in their RV, often camping off-grid to stretch their budget. Free camping on public lands Source Camping Styles There are numerous opportunities to save money camping in an RV, but first, you will need to decide on the level of comfort and amenities you want. I’ve divided camping opportunities into 3 categories: This is the most expensive type of camping, but there are bargains to be found.
Full hookups usually include connections to electric, water and sewer, but some campgrounds will also provide cable TV, telephone and other amenities. This is the most expensive way to camp, but you can still find cheap camping. Most private campgrounds that provide full hookups also give you the choice of partial hookups only electric or water and electric, but no sewer for a cheaper rate.
Boondocking, also referred to as dry camping, refers to camping in natural areas without amenities. Boondocking is one of the least expensive kinds of camping as you are not paying for utilities, clubhouses or a lot of amenities. Boondocking is common on public lands like Bureau of Land Management lands in the western states.
There are sometimes boondocking opportunities in National and State Forests and other public areas. Many boondocking sites are free or very inexpensive.
